I usually take three things into consideration when planning a mountain trip. I go go through these on a spectacular day in the Cairgorms.
On this day, I got one of those decisionswrong, and it almost ruined the day - it certainly made plan A unachievable. .
In this video, I break down all three choices and explain why each one matters for safety, fun, and success on the mountains. I’ll also share what I learned from my mistake (hopefully)
Whether you’re planning a hike, a climb, or just love following mountain adventures, this is a lesson in how one wrong decision can change the day.
