The Ancient City of Nessebar is an intriguing and beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site in eastern Bulgaria. A fortified city sitting on a peninsula out into the Black Sea, it's been occupied by many different tribes and states over the years, all of which have left an incredible legacy on the city. It's still absolutely packed with churches, many from the Byzantine era, and there's some fantastic Greek heritage to see as well. Let's check it out!
