Today's prompt was to make a jam in a genre you haven't tried producing before.
I haven't done any hardware jams in the style of minimalism before. So, inspired by Steve Reich's work, I set about having a go.
I recorded a part from the Model:Cycles into the Digitakt to make a loop. I set this to play infinitely and did the same with a duplicate loop, only the duplicate is tuned down by 10 cents. This causes the loops to gradually go out of phase with each other creating new melodic and rhythmic effects to come through.
In addition to this I did the same with a short vocal loop sampled from my daughter and added a pad on the Microfreak and a bass part on the Crave.
