iOS is the Operating System that runs Apple's mobile devices like the iPhone, iPod touche, and iPads. The iOS Dev Center contains online iOS Development resources, that you can find at: developer.apple.com/devcenter/ios/index.action
There you can find articles, videos, tutorials, how-to sections and many other useful resources. To get the most out of the iOS Dev Center, you have to register as an Apple Developer, which is free. To be able to create iOS apps, you need an Apple Intel-based Computer. Also, you must have Mac OS X Lion, or Snow Leopard installed on it.
When you develop apps, you use the iOS software development kit (SDK) and Xcode, Apple's integrated development environment (IDE).
