After four long years of nothing but Sonic spin offs, an era that saw mainline Sonic titles skip an entire console generation, Sonic Adventure was finally revealed!
This game had a lot of hype and expectations to live up to, so Sonic brought some friends along. In total, there are seven story campaigns featuring Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, newcomers Big and E-102, and, of course, Super Sonic! While I'm happy to see most of these characters, one in particular does bring the overall game's quality down.
Sadly, the Dreamcast didn't sell very well and this game couldn't save the hardware. A couple of years later, Sonic Adventure DX released on the Gamecube - putting Sega's mascot on Nintendo's console! That version of the game would see a PC port which then became the basis for a further PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Steam release. Ultimately, not all of the ports were created equally though, and there's a very clear worst option.
