So happy to finally finish this. I got the idea for this combination (Devotion by Hurts with Re:Zero) about two years ago, and my sources told me of the good Emilia stuff to come. :') The new season did amazing things with Emilia's character development (and everyone else for that matter), and I'm so excited to have used the new scenes.

To be honest I struggled a lot with the middle sections because I didn't want Emilia to look like a damsel in distress, but I think I showed how strong she becomes and how she fights her struggles? I hope so anyway. I also used some After Effects plug-ins and motion, which was pretty good practice~

The AMV basically follows Subaru X Emilia's relationship, from the moment Subaru meets her. Subaru's treatment and "vision" of her gradually improves while fighting his own struggles and hardships (like what happens over the course of Season 1-2, lol), and eventually Emilia also fights her inner demons and becomes willing to accept him, too.

Random trivia - I got the naming idea for this video as a flip from my last Re:Zero video - which is named Devotion, while using the song Somebody to Die For by Hurts. As I couldn't use Devotion, I decided to snatch half of Somebody to Die For instead. Lol.
