The HHP-8 was built by Alstom and Bombardier to run on electric Amtrak and MARC services. However, they were plagued by a ton of issues. So after just 15 years, Amtrak got rid of them (MARC kept them and fixed them). But now, several HHP-8s are coming back as HHP-Cs. Instead of locomotives, they will now operate as cab cars.
