We continue on our long ongoing journey and quest to play, review (you will vote in the chat!), record and document (eventually I will release the final spreadsheet and results!) of every commercially released game on the Amstrad CPC!
The previous A-Z of Amstrad games streams proved to be very popular, and so now we bring you the third part of 1985! We're playing through the games alphabetically, and tonight in our 3rd part we bring more games beginning with the letter 'A'! Hopefully we might make it to 'B' too!
So expect lots of nostalgia, Amsoft games, a load of old crap, and some oldie but goldies! Definitely our first film and coin-op licences too! Whatever we come across though it's an interesting part of Amstrad and gaming history we're documenting!
(The games we will be excluding are magazine listings and type-ins, text adventures, mail-order and strategy/war simulations. Some other simulation type games may be skipped and we probably will skip past public domain / homebrew games until later in the machine's life.)

Its a good Amstream when we have a new Amstrad game, but this week we have two! 🥳 We start tonight with...
☁️Foggys Quest☁️ This is an Amstream EXCLUSIVE! Because coder Cyrille Ayor61 has kindly given us the first look at the game (before its released tomorrow), so tonight is its release party I guess!! In this adventure platformer with plenty of puzzle solving, you have to help poor Foggy stranded on an alien planet recover parts of his space ship and escape from the clutches of the evil Nargs! This is a conversion of an existing ZX Spectrum game released in 2017, but with nice colourful Mode 0 graphics and an all new soundtrack from Jonah (SuTeKH/Epyteor)!
⭐️Tetris 40th⭐️ To celebrate the upcoming 40th birthday of Tetris comes an updated hack of the original Mirrorsoft Amstrad official conversion, now with massively improved in-game graphics and background - almost completely redesigned! The original was pretty much unplayable with terrible sprites and a distracting grey striped background! This is all thanks again to Cyrille Ayor61! Theres also a new loading screen and tune to enjoy!

In a first for my channel - not only are you getting a double longplay & review, but my very first Speccy one too! We of course start with the Amstrad CPC, which is a slightly different version of the Speccy original - it was whilst looking at the Speccy one for comparison and recording some footage that I actually beat that game all the way through too.... so what the heck! Have BOTH versions here!
If you fancy a quick blast on an early Phoenix clone for the home micros then theres nothing better than Laserwarp that defines a quick blast - its err.... quite a short game! But an interesting piece of history and oddity from Amsoft and Mikro-Gen to look at...

Tonight on the AMSTREAM we have a new Amstrad game!...
⭐️🕹️ GATES TO HEAVEN! 🕹️⭐️
The new release from ESP Soft, that talented team behind Red Sunset, Siemb Chronicles, Galactic Tomb etc are back with a gorgeous looking and sounding platformer called Gates To Heaven! A sequel to one of their earliest and oldest games Gates To Hell, youre back in control of Ruperto who is working for Amsoft+ to deploy a revolutionary new network system called AMSDOS+ that advocates for global network freedom! Unfortunately terrorists and hackers are trying to prevent this and its up to you to restore everything and get it uploaded to the CPC 464 and 6128 in time!
This new Amstrad game is a lovely looking platformer over 3 unique levels with 80s styled characters to battle against and 80s music motifs too! You can always expect quality from the ESP Soft team and Im sure Gates To Heaven will be no exception! Tonight well see how far we can get through the game, and hopefully beat it!
After Gates To Heaven its the return of a new Community AMSGAME!.....

🕹️ A-Z Series - Part #1 🕹️
Mastertronic were one of the first, and biggest publishers of budget gaming software and are still hugely fondly remembered! Its definitely long overdue that we take a look at their Amstrad catalogue of original budget games through a series of streams, going alphabetically A-Z through each of the game releases! And theres well over 100 to get through!
This will be on their main label as well as their sub-labels Bulldog Software, Entertainment USA and Mastertronic Added Dimension (M.A.D.). They also had other sub labels like Ricochet and Tronix for re-releasing full priced games, but we will be skipping those (maybe that can be for a different stream another time). Theres also the Mastertronic plus sub label that confusingly did both original and re-released full priced games - but dont worry, we will cover the original games from that too!
Ill be cataloguing each game into a spreadsheet along with your review scores and comments in the chat, for a future video for the channel too!
So expect lots of nostalgia, a load of cheap crap at times, maybe the odd hidden gem and hopefully some decent pocket money playable pickups! Whatever we come across though its an interesting part of Amstrad and gaming history were looking at!

Thrust is an all time classic often appearing in many top lists of the best UK 8-bit home computer games, and its about damn time someone covered the Amstrad version in full on YouTube!!
On this special longplay were going to beat all 24 missions (or planets) going through 4 loops of 6 levels at a time; including the first normal 6 levels, then reverse gravity, invisible walls, and finally reverse gravity with invisible walls!! Its going to be a long longplay!! But weve got some interesting things to cover like video footage and comparison with the other 7 official versions, tape loading music(?!), its arcade coin-op inspiration and whatever else we can find!

Tonight its all about SHMUPS on the Amstream! That is of course shoot em up games on the Amstrad CPC, and that definition of what constitutes a shmup can be hotly debated. But essentially were looking for games that feature you in some kind of vehicle (usually a space ship!), where the screen is scrolling in one fixed direction (exceptions made for single screen ones like Cybernoid though!) and you take on waves of enemies. Tonight you in the chat will be making requests and suggestions, well play the game and then well vote on it - with the purpose of eventually nailing down a top 20 then top 10 list of the best shmups on the Amstrad, which in turn Ill make a special video for the channel! So YOU have a hand in crafting and shaping that! 🚍 Invasion The Bouncing Army 🚍 Team Moritz are back with a new game celebrating the Dutch football fans with their orange bus and crazy bounce at Euro 2024! This is an early demo version and theyve kindly given the Amstream an exclusive first look and play of it! (Just in time before the Euros are over!!) Even the story is still being decided, but I think its something like - Moritzs Dutch friends and football fans are lost and late for the big game! Help them join up with Moritz and the rest of the crazy bouncing Dutch fans for a big celebration and party before the match against England! Lets goooo!
💀 Trasgo 💀 The new game from 21Bloques (Brush Brothers, Darkula64) finds you as Trasgo in a quest to rescue his family from an ancient curse in a creepy adventure platformer! Along your journey you can find ancient chests that will grant new abilities allowing you to take on greater challenges and increasingly more powerful enemies! Well see how far we can travel tonight!

Tonight on the Amstream were continuing our series looking at...
⭐️ THE HIT SQUAD ⚽️ SPORTS COLLECTION! 🏅
🕹️ Part #2 🕹️
This evening we continue our journey through of all the games released on the Hit Squad budget label! Weve done several streams already with the Arcade Collection and Movie Collection - now were back with our second part of the ⚽️ SPORTS COLLECTION! 🏅 and whilst I dont want to reveal spoilers, its an interesting line-up of games - some of which err definitely stretch the definition of sports!! One of which definitely isnt one, and is in fact a single screen arcade beat em up! Another is a famous racing game!! So dont worry if youre not a fan of games involving balls being kicked around a field... theres plenty here for everyone tonight!!
So Ocean Software started their own budget label called The Hit Squad to re-release theirs and others (eg Activision, Domark, etc) big full price releases at pocket money prices (in 1989 I believe). They did this in 3 collections - Arcade, Movie, and Sports - the latter of which were of course doing tonight. What was cool (especially for collectors) is that they used a numbering system on the spine of the cassette cover so we can start at #1 (the earliest release) and work our way through them! The Sports Collection has 21 titles and we begin tonight at #11 - and we work our way through them using that numbering order, keeping it a surprise as to what comes next each time for fun!
Its sure to be a nostalgic action-packed sporting AMSTREAM!

Tonight on the AMSTREAM we have a stunning new Amstrad game...
⭐️🚀 Hypernoid Zero! 🚀⭐️
Theyre back!! The team (now known as Bitplane Technomantes) consisting of Axelay on coding duties, Rexbeng on graphics and Tom&Jerry on music - those behind such fantastic Amstrad games such as Relentless, Dragon Attack, Super Edge Grinder and more... have returned with the Cybernoid inspired - Hypernoid Zero and it looks stunning!! Entered into the recent Revision 2024 demo competition where it came 3rd place overall in the Gamedev category - which is no small achievement going up against Amiga, PC, etc games! I cant wait to check it out because this looks like an absolutely fantastic production all round, and sure to be one of the big hits of the year on the Amstrad scene...

🪩 Pinball Magic+! 🪩
⚡️ Remastered Update! ⚡️
The original CPC version of Pinball Magic looked pretty dull in 4 colours, but at least with palette colour changes for each of its tables. Most of us know it later got ported to the Amstrad GX4000 console, this time with lots of colours for all the tables. However Jean-Marie - whos done similar remastering work in the past for games like Sly Spy - decided why not patch and add the colours to the original CPC version?! And thats what hes done! Not only that, but hes added awesome new tunes for each of the tables too - which was missing even in the GX4000 version! So lets check it out!
