After my pretty hard "Blocky Skies" longplay where I had to use my poor brain to remember stuff, I felt like doing something a bit easier, so did this McGee series :P

American Laser Games are arcade games where you use a gun and shoot stuff on a big screen. These games happen to run on my favorite Commodore Amiga, the Amiga 500. It uses Amigas genlock to display the video.
I like this one more than my previous two ALG-games. They seem to have had a decent budget, the music was cool (they even made it sync to some light stuff here and there, like at 17:08 and 18:54), and it included a strip club :P

I longplayed this game about 5 years ago, mainly because there was no proper longplay of it. Those 2-3 longplays I found were all using trainers (unlimited energy, etc). Theres also a couple of Lets Plays, one used trainer, the other one played legit but after several attempts didnt even manage to finish level one.
Now Im redoing this longplay (well, just the last level, the rest is identical to my previous video) because we finally found out how to get the ending. No one knew if the Amiga version included an ending, and some coder even looked at the code and couldnt figure it out, but he did find the ending picture amongst the files. How to get the ending was apparently messaged to another YouTuber (Zeusdaz) recently whos one of those who has done a longplay of this game before (with trainer, like most do, bleh) and also didnt show the ending. So he just uploaded a new video to show how it was done. He also said he struggled to raise the log and it takes a weird joystick instruction to do it, so its kinda jerky when he does it. Well, for me it was just to press the down-direction, and it worked smoothly every time (must be facing right tho).
I checked a C64 longplay of the game as I was curious what the log and rope etc looked like compared to the Amiga version, and LOL... how didnt people get how to do this in the Amiga before? Wish Id checked it before doing my longplay 5 years ago. So many years and no one figure it out, when its practically done the same way. I mean, its not hard to see in the Amiga version what represents the log, as it stands out from everything else, and then ofc the rope would be somewhere to the left of it, which was also not too hard to spot when you know its supposed to be there. Its a rope on top of a vine, so looks a bit different from the other vines.
So, anyway, that a solution was found came to my attention when a fan of his commented on my video saying my video isnt a proper one as it lacks the ending (well, it WAS the best and most proper one until the ending was figured out) and kept praising Zeusdaz for being the first to do a video of the ending. Well, good for him, and I would have done it too 5 years ago if I just checked a C64 longplay first and didnt listen to everyone who said it couldnt be done as no one had even done a video of it either. So now this new longplay of mine should be the best and most proper one again (always best sound and picture quality too). Im kind of a completionist, which why I sometimes even do an extras video to show stuff I didnt/couldnt do in the longplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMCG5-sJKDg, so I wanted to redo this video with the ending. Maybe my video is the first one to show the bow? :), I checked all the videos I could find on YouTube, no one showed the bow (it exist in two places, both from bushes, in level 3 and 4).
Still tho, seems like a weird ending. I tried everything I could think of to make something else happen. If you wait for the timer to end after trapping the Predator, it just goes to game over and skips the explosion scene. I tried shooting him with all 4 arrows and kicking + punching him while he was trapped, redid previous level without picking up the radio to see if that did anything different, left the cage up when exiting the level, etc. Nothing made a difference, so guess this is what the real ending should look like. Kinda makes sense I guess. I just feel like he got
The C64 version is better than this Amiga version, in my opinion. The controls are not that great. Can only walk up and down if you zigzag. The grenades are mostly useless (only good for taking out the shooting thingy when you are on the log, as you cant shoot it from there - 09:06). The collision detection is crap. The enemies can shoot you while they are outside the screen, but you cant shoot them if they are not at least partially visible. I found no use for the ducking (the game still acted like he was the same height). Blocking is only good for Predators punches, not his kicks (yup, tried ducking and it did nothing). You get an extra life/grenade when completing some levels, but not all of them, like the last level (was probably only this level). I let myself get hit by the laser right before completing level 3, because I knew I would get it back, but nope. Anyway, when you do get more health after completing a level, its 6 health bars, not a life (which is sort of the same). For example, if you finish a level with 2 lives and 1 health, you get 3 lives and one health. If you finish a level with 3 lives and 3 health, you get 3 lives and 6 health.
A common complaint I read was the game doesnt have enough ammo, as you use it up too quickly. Well, it does have enough, you just need to be more careful of when to shoot, what to shoot, and how much. Too bad you cant walk back (game doesnt scroll to the left) to collect earlier dropped weapons/ammo.

After 5 hours with Deflektor, this game was a breath of fresh air in comparison. I was tired of hearing the same one tune over and over again, and it wasnt hard solve each level, but it was frustrating as those things flying around kept changing my stuff.
Beambender is not a Deflektor clone, but it has similarities and is a much better puzzle game than Deflektor and wouldnt exist if it wasnt for Deflektor, as the idea for the game came from it.
Beambender has many different tunes (a total of 40 minutes, and you can choose which one to listen to every 5 levels), level passwords, better graphics, runs smoother, and even has a pause button (bottom left corner). If I would have one complaint, it would be to rather (or also) have the pause function on a key on the keyboard, as moving the mouse down to the left corner every time after each move so you could plan your next move got boring and annoying really quick. Luckily I emulated this game, so I could use space to pause/resume emulation. This way I could have one hand on the keyboard and the other on the mouse. This way also meant I didnt have to include or edit out all the time I spent thinking while it was paused, as pausing the emulation also pauses the recording. Normally I dont think the pause button was meant to be used after each move, but thats how I used it. I most of the time even paused after I picked up a piece to see if I needed it somewhere, hence why it was so annoying (for me anyway) to move the mouse down there every time.
I had help from one of the devs of the game - Bernhard Aichinger - graphician/musician/misc, according to Hall of Light. His brother did the coding. I was provided with a partial walkthrough, which I took help from every now and then, mainly in the beginning. Before playing I had a quick look through the manual and forgot when started playing that I could double click on cannons and/or exists to stop cannons from shooting lasers three times, as a third time could destroy stuff, which made me fail many times. I learned/noticed it much later tho, so started playing better :)
I kinda took my time on the first few levels, showing the viewers a bit of how the game works. Later on I just go for the correct build straight-up, as its so easy to fail things if I goof around too much, thus taking much longer to complete each level.

Now when Deflektor and Beambender are done, theres a third similar game left to do: Mindbender, also known as Deflektor 2, which I normally would have longplayed after Deflektor, but as Beambender was a request, I did that first.

Beambender was our first and – unfortunately – our last game for the Amiga. 1997, when it was released, the Amiga was already far beyond its best times. It was a typically some dudes come together to make a game, and they have no plan whatsoever project. We started with the design of the playfield and after quite some time we had a few mockups, with all the elements, that should be included in the game. Most of the level design was made with little paper-squares and a sheet of paper with a grid on it. Of course we made more than 80 levels, but we excluded a lot of ideas and variations of levels, otherwise it would be too much of the same. The music was also a challenge. We did not want to have some bugging noise, but also no background, that does not seem to be much. So we ended up with a electro-funk-hiphop-bigbeat-thing. Tracks from Amiga and PC are different. I hope you enjoy.

Aight, Im done with the Coktel Vision games. Next up was gonna be Picsou: Chasseur De Trésor which is Scrooge McDuck looking for trasures, and Les Castors Juniors Dans La Forêt which is Huey, Dewey and Louie in the woods as Junior Woodchucks. And theres many, many more Coktel Vision titles, like 2 Asterix games, the 3 Goblins games, Oliver & Company, etc.
The title translates to something like The Three Little Pigs are Having Fun. Well, according to Google translate (I know, cant trust that one ofc), with Samusent, it becomes Have Fun, but with samusent, it becomes are Having Fun, so makes sense to use lower case in the title, but when I google the game title, most places have Sa and SA. So, I just went with Sa. Tell me if it should be lower-case to be correct and Ill change it :)

Was gonna do another misc video, like the previous one (Cannon Fodder Intro in AGA), so only planned on showing one of the ladies (Ines of course, because shes the hottest), but as I 𝐝𝐢𝐝 play through the game (not showing all ladies ofc) and defeated Ines, I decided to just call it a longplay instead, so added the intro as well for good measure.
Would be too risky anyway to do a proper longplay with all the ladies, because of how YouTube and some people are, even if I censor all the nice parts. Speaking of censor, I ofc censored Ines thingies, even the two pictures with her somewhat see-through-ish bra (just in case). Kept an uncensored version for my personal collection 👉👈. YouTube automatically sat 18+ only restriction on this video (so no revenue earnings, which is OK, my channel only makes like $15/month anyway lol) and I cant remove it (only if appealing). Guess its for the best.
Was too lazy to show the comparison thingy of all the pictures in the end, like I did in the Cannon Fodder video, so only did it a bit with her first image and the title screen.
BTW, a bit poppy/jumpy music. As I first planned on doing just a misc, I wasnt too careful with my emulator settings, and at the same time trying the new beta.

NEONnoir is a hybrid point-and-click adventure/visual novel game for the Amiga 1200, and its free.
I enjoyed playing through it, but it was a bit too easy. Never got stuck, was just straight forward what to do most of the time, and when I didnt know, I knew like 1 min after as I just quickly ran around talking to people (clicking through all dialogue until I noticed something new has happened), then loaded a saved state and continued with the new stuff I learned.
I found a bug. The inventory button thingy at the bottom right corner can be clicked on the main menu and during the intro, even though its icon is not shown.
Seems like the developer wanted people to run it in NTSC, so one version had it forced to NTSC, but some people had issues with it because if they dont have a monitor that supports it, things would look weird (or whatever it was, only had a quick read), so he made new version where its using the one the system is already using natively, and if someone wanted to switch between them, they had the option via ToolType.
Anyway, after I read that I thought maybe I should longplay this in NTSC, because I did find the music in the beginning sounding a bit slow, especially the time between the trumpets (like at 3:20). I mean, if thats how its intended to sound, thats OK of course. But if I made the music I would have sped it up a bit. And I checked some clips of this game on YouTube and everyone ran it in PAL. So I listened to the music in an external music player and it plays at the same speed as PAL. So, I guess its not really meant to be at NTSC speed. So, I decided on PAL (as usual).
Theres a small jump at 37:54 as I used a savestate here and 3 of the frames (both video and audio ofc) got corrupted.

Crap game, but decent music IMO.
This game loads soooooo slow for some reason, and theres music during the loading, so I left all the loading in. Use the timestamps to skip them.
I found 3 different speeds of this game. One cracked version ran very slow (music too), another a bit faster. I use the .ipf version which ran the fastest. I didnt have NTSC toggled on, with it on it ran even faster (ofc).
Theres some sound glitches in all versions and emulator settings I tried. YouTube has a video of this game recorded straight from the original hardware and it has it too. But another video on YouTube that is emulated didnt seem to have it, dunno what version and stuff they might have used.
Anyway, the version recorded from the original hardware ran the slowest. I usually rip the music so see the intended speed, but the simple music ripper in the emulator didnt find a recognizable music format, so I didnt bother trying other ways. So went with the music/game speed this version has.
