An arcade quality Amiga OCS port of Gradius/Nemesis.
Works on an A500 with 512kb/512kb memory, but some parts of the game will be very slow, so an A1200 is recommended, I read. So I played it on a stock A1200, but still got some slowdowns, but not too bad. Couldn't be bothered replaying with faster settings.

Modern River Raid on Amiga, I read.
The goal is to get as high score as possible while hopefully getting to the end of the one and only loooong level as well.
It doesnt require AGA, but it needs (again, I read) 14 mhz, 2mb chip and 1mb fast... something like that. So can be run on an OCS/ESC system I guess if it has like some accelerator card or something. One of my Amiga 500s has a ACA500+ which gives it like 40 mhz and 8mb ram, 1mb chip, so maybe it wont run on that cuz only 1mb chip... too lazy to check, or type properly here :).... anywayyyy... decent game.")

There are two version of this game - Abracadabra and Baba Yaga. Theres a lot of differences between them, like graphics, creatures, fonts, items, etc, but are mainly the same game.
In Abracadabra its winter and you are delivered by a dragon. The evil dude of this version is Satanicus, the horrible magician.
In Baba Yaga its summer and you are delivered by a stork instead, and the evil person is Baba Yaga, the wicked witch of the swamp.
I guess they both cater to different audiences. In Slavic myths, Baba Yaga is the wild woman or dark lady of magic, she has chicken legs. There are many stories about her in Russian folklore.
You have no control over the text/dialogues most of the time, so you have to wait for the next one. In some places the scene fades out at the same second the last text is shown, so cant be read unless you pause. Sometimes its a bit too fast. Anyway, its not me clicking or anything, just so you know :)
When selecting the look of our hero, the two left-most portraits look female (Im sure they are, or at least the one to the farthest left). So, I decided to be male (Adam) in abracadabra, and female (Eve) in Baba Yaga, but turns out the game doesnt know this and still call her he/him in the dialogues, even if I select the first one from the left.
If you dont select a head, clothing or name, the game does it for you, and you get the default colors and the left-most head, and are given the name of Nemo.
I cant help to laugh at the German voice during the animal names part :)
One thing that is kinda fucked-up is the baby is delivered to those poor woodcutters. They are POOR! The last thing they need is another mouth to feed, IMO.
Most of the time you find the item after the 4th try, EVEN if you click on the SAME thing all those times, lol. The dungeon scene is different and will pop the item after the 7th different thing youve clicked on.
In Baba Yaga I played on hardest difficulty (and was the first of the two games I played through). the difficulty is too high and Im sure they didnt play-test it.
When you die you are just moved one screen/scene back.
There seem to be different random outcomes in the dungeon after the enemy has been defeated (at 11:19). In this case it was a girl from the left gate, but one time a bubble (doesnt look like a ball) came bouncing in from the bottom right and popped a bearded gnome-looking person with a red hat. There could be more.
At 20:20, I tried for over 20 minutes and couldnt get to the other side, but was determined and eventually managed to time the jump PERFECTLY, its down to a pixel not too far or short, or you get hit. So stupid.
At 20:30, I tried even longer than the previous screen and gave up, was IMPOSSIBLE, so decided to try the debugger in WinUAE (the emulator I use) to read the memory to find the X value of the players position, took some time but I managed. This is why I teleport to the other side, because there was no other possible way. Also because of this; I played Abracadabra on easy.
After the ending, I right click to bring up the menu and select to return to the menu, then to get dropped at the castle instead. After the first room has been completed, I bring up options again in the next scene and quit, because from her on out, its the same as the previous journey via the woodcutters.")

Actually not a bad educational game, with good rating too, and from what I read online; some Amiga fans even today let their kids play it and they said the kids like it. It has a bunch of information about dinosaurs, and you can play as different ones and thus notice where in the food chain you are. You can also build your own dinosaur, name it, print it and other things.
I was surprised the flying dinosaur-thingy wasnt anything else but a background occurrence every now and then, as I couldnt attack it with any of the three dinosaurs, and it couldnt attack them. I couldnt find a manual though, so maybe theres more to it and I didnt figure it out.
I got stuck for a bit when I tried playing as the Tyrannosaurus Rex, because now I have to eat the other dinosaurs, but they would sometimes not come out in time, or they would run away and I would die from starvation. But I luckily noticed that if I dont move, my health doesnt go down as fast and I can just wait for a dinosaur to appear. Another thing I noticed is the enemy comes from the opposite side... for example, once you cross half the screen, they appear from the half you came from, which you can use to your tactical advantage with all three. Which is why I hurry to the other half of the screen with the Stegosaurus (didnt with the Bronto as I wanted to show off the struggle) in case a T-Rex comes after me, which would be from the side I came from, so I can eat as much as possible and continue to the right. Otherwise I would have to run back to the previous screen to the left if I didnt make it far enough, as the T-Rex would come from the right, and the game doesnt allow for any dinosaur to run past each other above or below.
I didnt try to make a proper dinosaur in the end as I just wanted to make a weird looking one, and also show that some parts will end up outside the white area. There were even pieces where all three parts would end up outside the area on the top. Weird they didnt center the design, starting with the head in the middle to the left of the white area, instead of top left.")

This is a game that no one has longplayed before, and for good reason. Its very glitchy/buggy/cryptic, but the main reason is level 2 is unbeatable because it has three empty black spaces in the wall at a certain part of the map that the player cant get past. I personally would have no problem getting through them because Ive encountered problematic areas like this before in other games, as I just use WinUAEs debugger to find the X/Y location values of the character and move him/her/it to wherever I want.
The reason Ive not longplayed this game before was it was too much work to figure out where to go on each level (need to plan out a good route), and as no one had properly completed it - I wasnt sure if it was even beatable, like... maybe some parts of the levels were REALLY broken so no matter what I tried I couldnt beat them, unless using level codes to get to the next level, which I never would if I couldnt finish the previous level. Also, the outro might be broken etc, and some versions of the disks might have more problems than others (always a bunch of different version dumps of each game). I use .ipf (unaltered) versions of games most of the time, which I did in this case.
Anyway, thanks to DJBunyan on YouTube who did a speedrun of the game (4 years ago tho, but I didnt find out about it until recently): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygLilq_9U94, I was now more motivated to do the longplay as he shows where to go and stuff. He did skip like 95% of level 1 as he glitched through the wall (which you can in many places throughout the game as its sooo buggy, just landing can kill you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjRIXxQi-eo) to get to the end boss, so I still had to do level 1 properly myself :) (oh, the agony of having to do some work on my own!... jk). Even if he didnt skip most of level 1, a new video of this game was needed anyway as his has glitchy audio (speeds up and down because of improper WinUAE settings, I kinda had it too with my first configuration, the game seems to be quite settings-sensitive), bad frame rate and resolution, he shows the debugger window, theres graphics of time etc outside the game window, he talks over it, etc.
The bosses are a bit stupid. They take so many hits, and on most of them you cant avoid taking damage. You can avoid taking damage on the knight boss, but its tedious as you have to walk back and forth constantly, and as his hit box is square, you cant duck under the dagger, not even if you duck under the very tip of it. The same tactic is normally used on the dragon boss, which DJBunyan did, but I noticed there is a spot you can stand where it cant hit you, but you can hit it, so you just stand still and spam the air attack thingy. If he redo his speedrun, he could use this method for a faster time. Mine isnt a speedrun (obviously) as I take my time and included some other stuff I found interesting (like the rolling rock at 35:26), but there were parts he did kinda slow and struggled with that I found a faster and safer method to deal with (that again can make his speedrun faster), whichever those parts were now again.
You dont have to push down and then immediately up to do a super jump. Its enough you push down, then walk around or whatever and the next jump will still be a super jump. So if you see me duck for seemingly no apparent reason and then just continue walking, its because I know a place that needs a super jump is coming up.
This game was probably unfinished, and if we disregard the area on level 2 where you cant get past without some hacking, theres many other places that also seem unfinished. Some walls you break using the bull, others you can just simply walk through for some reason. While most gates need keys to open, and others dont (they are opened other ways), theres one you can just walk through, its at 45:28. To open this gate youre supposed to break the wall below it using the bull and pull that lever/switch, which I show here: 49:26. DJBunyan in his video tho at 31:37 says that (paraphrasing) breaking through that wall might save you some time, which I dont see how.

Didnt know those were what speed I wanted to move at during the action scenes (enemies are slower/faster too, ofc). When I was rowing my boat and later running around on the other levels, I was like man, they fucked this up, TOO fast, IMO (I was OK with the enemies move speed tho). Then when the game was over and I wanted to see what would happen if I picked another animal, I noticed it was the speed. Turtle is the more natural one, so will use that in the French version.

04:52 - This loops 6 times for some reason (wasnt loading). Was thinking of editing out 4 of them or something, but kept it as maybe it has some sort of significance to the movie. I know Hook is afraid of clocks, maybe 6 oclock is extra bad or something, dunno.
05:34 - Where you and the enemies spawn are random. This caused me to insta-die here, LOL.
Losing all lives on any level just resets it so you get all lives back, but only once. Next time you lose all lives, its the same as if you completed them normally, except on the last one (the ship) where the girl is crying instead (same screen as 05:27), then the flying boat and Ende (The End, ofc) as normal.
Some screens with the green border/frame has an empty vertical line of pixels on the left side of the screen for some reason. Not a cropping error.
The differences between the German and French versions are the languages (ofc) and the title tunes. Also, the one and only French version I could find had a crack intro thingy and stuff. Couldnt find a clean version like the German one (.ipf, unmodified). The cursor in the French version was a weird looking red arrow, which looks the same in-game as in AmigaDOS, so I replaced it with the one from the German version.")
