After taking apart the A500+ that turned out not to be so great, I decided I may as well take a look at the A500 too, which I'd bought a while ago. This one had also been damaged in the post because it had been posted in a box that was way too small, with little packaging to protect it.

I already suspected that this had a battery on the trap door slot RAM expansion, as the enable/disable switch was stuck when I first tried to move it. I also wasn't able to remove the expansion to take a proper look at it until I opened the A500 up, even then I wasn't able to remove it!

Hopefully sooner or later I'll get around to some actual repairs, rather than just keep adding more problems to my to do list...
