In this weeks video we replace the capacitors on my spare A1200.

This machine works fine so why bother replacing the caps??? Well, at least half of the old caps had started to leak which is obvious by the fishy smell when desoldering. If I had left it until it stopped working there is a good chance the leaking electrolyte would have damaged the board requiring more intensive repairs.

If your retro computer is not already recapped then get it done as soon as possible.

Capacitor kits can be easily bought from eBay for most retro computers and if you're not keen on doing it yourself there are plenty of people out there in the community to help.
