This video leads us 2 2 (ha) conclusions:
1.) Still can't do voice-overs
2.) Don't start FX at 5 pm. (it's 1 am and I'll have 5 hours and 10 minutes of sleep if I fall asleep right now. YAY)
update: less than 5 hours. Also funny story, I rerendered this 2 times, first bc there was a frame of footage of the next scene THAT SOMEHOW MANAGED TO GET PAST MY ALL-SEEING EYE. and the second time literally bc I confused june and july and put it wrong in the credits. Granted, I could have cut it away, BUT NO I'M A PERFECTIONIST. Screw it.
You should mean after rendering the "same thing" 3 times it would get faster but YOU'D BE WRONG. SIGH.

SOME BACKSTORY bc I need sth to do:
Sooo you know every once in a while I would go out into the depths of youtube, spotify or other sites to find music and would on purpose for the sake of editing search for songs I could edit. And usually I'm so stubborn that I end up not liking songs I like later and spending 5 hours listening to stuff I end up judging too early or too much.
But sometimes I'm actually smart enough to let it play in the background and hope to at least hear sth of it, and with this I literally JUMPED at "Don't wanna know that I'm not right" AND SCREAMED "AMETHYST!!". So I basically build this around that line. FUnnily enough that line was pretty hard to find clips to use, bc while it fits amethyst it's hard to visually find scenes to use.

When I started this it should be somewhat like the "vaiana: battles" video. Nice, but not too much effort or fx. But then... I started doing flow AND it stayed haha.
The voice-overs were a pretty late idea. I just wanted to enhance "I don't have to explain it" since Steven understands her and she doesn't really have to explain it to him and then I wanted to do a few more. I made sure to only do them in the slow part so I wouldn't have to figure out voice overs for the later music.

I kinda ran out of ideas at the end and well, I think the triangles ruin the flow but I liked them so I let them be.
Also I just ramble so much bc I'm literally WAITING for the render to be done so I can get my 4 1/2+ hours of sleep I need to function. Ehhh, I hope that I collected enough sleep this weekend to survive monday :'D

So yeah. I literally plan on making vids with every main character (except Jasper probably, bc even tho I love jasper I literally don't have a song. She will get 2-3 with lapis, both in a shipping way and in a just editing to the same song) and funfact, the first su vid I ever started was the pearl mv and it's currently the one with the least done (literally two masks and the intro). WOW.
And now I got Steven (if you count drown as steven-centric, which it is i guess???) and Amethyst. YAY.
