Many of America's biggest and oldest cities such as Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC, Richmond and Virginia Beach are beginning to fuse into one. The Northeast Megalopolis is a region of the US that encompasses all of the massive metropolitan areas that have been growing for the past 4 centuries and are growing so large that they are actually starting to bump into each other and see the lines between them blur more and more. This region currently has around 60 million people in a land area similar in size to the United Kingdom, making it the only large region of the United States that has a population density comparable to that of Western Europe. The Northeast Megalopolis now has an incredible religiously and ethnically diverse population with descendants from Eastern and Western Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, all parts of Asia and beyond, and is essentially the beating heart of the American nation.
