After the Second World War, the common enemies of the United States and the Soviet Union had been defeated. Yet with victory came a new tension. The two emerging superpowers, divided by opposing ideologies, embarked on a perilous course that threatened to spark another global conflict. This time, however, the stakes were far higher. Nuclear weapons now loomed over the world, capable of destruction on a scale never before seen, with the potential to end civilization itself. While both nations poured immense resources into the research and development of nuclear arms, they did not overlook the importance of conventional weapons. Throughout the following decade, both the U.S. and the Soviet Union raced to field more advanced and effective tank designs. Most of these followed traditional concepts of armored warfare - but not all. A handful of experimental projects pursued radical and unconventional ideas, pushing the boundaries of what a tank could be. One of the most unusual among them was the Chrysler TV-8.
