Location: 260 E Vanderbilt Drive, Oak Ridge, Anderson County, TN
Headed back into the town of Oak Ridge to nab this Tempest located atop a hill above downtown. It replaced the AL-6000R next to it, which stands abandoned. These T-121's and T-135's surround the Y-12 National Security Complex, the roughly 2 mile radius of which includes the city of Oak Ridge. They replaced a system of Alertronic AL-7200's and AL-6000R's. The sirens would be used in case of any emergency at the facility. This is the second T-121 I have recorded, and seemed a little more punchy than the last one I recorded. Enjoy!
Y-12 sirens are tested on the first Wednesday of each month at noon.
