Type: Federal Signal 3T22
Signal: Alert
Location: 1319 Lee Street E, Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia (Lee Terrace)
On the way home from our Virginia coaster trip, Mike, August, Gary, and I dropped in to Charleston, WV to grab their test. We chose their only 3T22, located downtown on top of the rather tall Lee Terrace. We set up on top of a hospital parking lot, and halfway through the test a medevac helicopter actually landed right next to us. You can hear at least one 2001 and a few MOD IIs. These sirens were used a few days prior to warn of an EF-1 tornado in the area. This was an awesome experience. Enjoy!
Kanawha County sirens are tested on the fourth Wednesday of each month at noon.
