Signal: Silent test
Location: 435 E Pete Rose Way, Cincinnati, Hamilton County, OH
Not sure what I was expecting here. Usually, HamCo tests on the first Wednesday, but the temperatures were below freezing so they postponed it until this week. I wake up this morning to a post by Hamilton County EMHSA that proclaims they will only be sounding the sirens for 10 seconds. Almost immediately I considered the large possibility of a silent test with the E-Classes. Nontheless, it was only a short 6 minute drive from my house, so I got over there and arrived a about 15 minutes before noon. As you can see in the video, I decided to wait under the siren itself, partly because I wanted to hear the FSK. One burst came through, and the drivers popped. This bit is just barely audible in the video, you may actually be able to hear the relay click over the drivers. With another burst and another relay click, the siren did its silent test. Not as exciting as it could have been, but I can cross it off my bucket list of things I never expected to experience!
