Today we revisit the locomotive wheel notation that built a nation: the great "Eight Wheeler" 4-4-0 American type. With so many having been built for the greater part of the 19th Century, these wonderful machines are worth watching, studying and appreciating over and over again. Both original and new 4-4-0s are featured here, such as Leviathan and York based on Central Pacific 60 Jupiter and based in Pennsylvania, Greenfield Village 1 Edison, Eureka and Palisades 4 Eureka, Pennsylvania Railroad 1223, Wilmington and Western 98, and a few movie locomotives including Thomas Edison's "The Great Train Robbery," "Hello Dolly," and "Steamboat Bill, Jr." Hope you enjoy!
