Here is a near-complete departure from this channel's content: Diesel engines. Usually abhorred by myself as lifeless machines, I do make an exception when it comes to these particular engines. The EMD F7 unit, in particular, tickles my fancy especially when wearing the War Bonnet of the Super Chief for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. And that is what drove the inspiration for this compilation: the streamlined diesel locomotives of the Santa Fe. Naturally, I wanted to have a little tie-in to Walt Disney, which is why you see him on his 1948 excursion to the Chicago Railroad Fair with Ward Kimball regaling the joys and fun each of them had riding the Chief from California to Illinois.
