Description
This video is my flatpicked, melody-in-the-bass arrangement of the famous American patriotic song “America The Beautiful”. Katharine Lee Bates published the lyrics as a poem in 1895. Over the next 15 years the poem was matched up with several different melodies. The one that emerged as the most popular was the hymn tune MATERNA, composed by Samuel Ward in 1882. The words and music were published together as a song in 1910.
