I am SO happy that this year at bfls we used a song that fit characters or couples because it meant that I could finally use Roshanna. Id have been disappointed if I went the whole of pride month without editing my favourite ace character. Also, our parts were assigned a colour based on the pride flag, and man, was turquoise a weird colour to use. End of another month. This one made lockdown go a lot quicker now that I have work to do, although it means much less time for editing, and quite a lot less inspiration, which kinda shows in some of these parts, but She Ra has made me want to edit lots again, and Im excited for Pride month! I picked this up as a back up and kinda had no idea what to do with this part because I like to lyric match and stuff, but I just- these lyrics are weird, so I did my best to try and create a through line.

Gotta say, I was pretty terrified editing this sort of song still image, but the MEP came out amazing, and I actually had quite a lot of fun editing these, especially the Hawks part. I have known Hawks for all of two episodes, and I already love him. Im anime only, but Ive seen some out of context manga spoilers on Instagram, and Im both excited and terrified for whats coming with his character. Also, I have never been more invested in a fan theory than the Dabi-is-a-Todoroki theory, and I want it to be true so badly.

Ive been working on this part on-off for a couple months now, glad to finally get it finished! Troia suggested we go with punk/rock/rebellious aesthetic to fit the song, so I went with a graffiti one, which I find really fun to edit with.

Im so glad that I had the time (or thought I did, back in April) to host another MHA on bfls, but my own parts were rather lackluster. I struggled for inspiration and energy. I had to last minute switch my second part from Clint to Marc just to get it done, and somehow that worked, even though Ive never read a Moon Knight comic and only have a vague understanding of the character! Im really happy with the full MEP, though, and Im glad I hosted it because mental health awareness still means so much to me.

Told you there would be more HDM edits! This time its Lee Scoresby to Feel It Still by Portugal. The Man. Have some lighthearted fun before the episode today emotionally wrecks us! I love Lee (and Hester, she deserves a shout out because shes amazing, and her dynamic with Lee was perfect) so much, hes my third favourite character in the series thanks to my recent re-read because he cares about Lyra so much and would do anything for her, which is a trope I am weak for, and his bromance with Iorek gives me life! XD So there is also a Lee, Lyra and Iorek in the works because I loved the emphasis they put on Lee and Ioreks friendship, the look on Lees face when Iorek tells him to leave because he doesnt want him to stay just kills me, and Im so excited to see Lyras relationship with these two to develop!

Final upload of the year! Happy New Years Eve everyone! Wow, 2023 just absolutely flew by for me. I had a lot going on this year with work, looking for a new job and health issues, but things were a lot better by the end of the year, I moved, joined a D&D campaign and am due to start a new job in January! Overall, though, I just really struggled with editing. I pretty much took a complete break from editing FX for a good chunk of the year until Halloween, and Im glad I found my mojo again by Christmas for Secret Santa, and I think I pulled out some of my best editing for it.

The colouring for this was a nightmare. The idea was dark reds/purples/blues like the music video for the song, so I ran with purple, but the space heaven scenes were so bright whilst the tree scenes were super dark that it was a real pain.

You can really tell which part I made the week when I had no inspiration. Im surprised that Ive never edited Mando and Baby Yoda before because I am weak for found family/adoptive parents. If Zoya is not queen of Ravka in 2021, I will be extremely disappointed. Also, I made this part before Chapter 8 of A3! came out so I didnt know anything about Guy other than that he was from the same country as Citron, but now having read it, god does this song fit so well for his arc!

Ive had the idea of editing this song to His Dark Materials for ages because the price of your greed is your son and your daughter just screams Asriel to me, but I was too scared of the instrumental section to ever start it, so Im glad to finally edit this song! A multifandom edit to Bones by Galantis (ft. OneRepublic) to say thank you for 5k subs! Im already doing an MEP, but I wanted to do something myself too, and I never finish my big multifandom plans without some external motivation. The idea was to do my favourite (or only, in the case of some media) ship from all the different types of media that I edit with: comics, live action, anime, cartoon, manga, game cutscenes and fan art, and Im really happy with how this turned out! This was actually so easy to make (except the manga part, that was hell, but I knew that the moment I made the stupid decision to do it in the instrumental bit), which was nice given I dont work with some of this stuff a lot, and it was just so fun! I also did my best to try and keep the style consistent when changing between them, and for the most part I think I succeeded.
