Hello friends, in this video we take a close look on the FM abilities of the AMD InterWave and compare it with the Yamaha OPL3 that defines the standard for PC FM music since the Adlib card.
First we have The Secret Of Monkey Island Into, then a short passage of Dune, the Amberstar Intro and at last a a longer passage of Dune playing on the AMD InterWave.
I have mixed feelings about the InterWave FM. Its better than I'd expected and sounds quite good in Dune, but in TSOMI it sounds inferior and also it seems to playback a little bit to slow (you can hear different pitch in Amberstar and the playback time was a little bit longer.
I wonder if the FM of the InterWave sounds the same on the Gravis Ultrasound - if you own one, please let me know in the comments.
