Hello friends, I'm working on a comparison video but meanwhile I'd like to present another great FM tune with the Orpheus 1 - its a tune from "1869 - Hart am Wind", a simulation game that was developed and released by Max Design in 1992. The music is composed by Hannes Seifert. According to Moby Games, his tracker routines were extract out of this game and used in many PC demos and cracktros back in the 90s. Hannes Seifert is a pioneer of chiptunes - he composed his music on his own developed tracker for the Yamaha YM3812, better known as the Adlib or OPL2 FM-syntheyizer. The OPL2 revolutionized PC games music as until then such level of complexity in sound synthesis was reserved to the famous commodore computers.
The Orpheus 1 card uses the Yamaha YMF289 OPL3 FM here, wich is downward compatible to OPL2. SRS is turned of. The record was made using the analog out. It is directly out of the game running in real DOS.
