Two commercials for new (now long forgotten) programming blocks on American Movie Classics (AMC).
First, a teaser for the 2000 debut of a Three Stooges block, hosted by Leslie Nielsen as a professor for "NYUK" (get it?) -- I think these were just the catalog of theatrical shorts, but maybe they showed the feature films, too. I think as of 2024 AMC was still showing the Stooges, albeit in 30-minute chunks with loads of commercials.
Second, a promo for the November 5, 1999 series premiere of "Cinema Secrets," a half-hour documentary highlight modern (i.e. late '90s) special effects filmmaking. This was a favorite block of mine, called "AMC efx," with Cinema Secrets followed by a vintage special FX film, hosted by Stan Winston. I probably watched this every weekend, although I have only but a few left on VHS.
Originally recorded October 31, 1999 on EP-mode VHS; transferred in 2010 on a Panasonic DMR-EZ37V.
