This percussion ensemble composition is written for glockenspiel, two xylophones, two vibraphones, three marimbas, electric bass, and drum set. Each marimba part uses the range of a 4.0-octave marimba and should ideally have one player per marimba, but Marimba 1 can share an instrument with Marimba 3 if the Marimba 3 part is taken down an octave (using the range of a 5.0-octave marimba).
Experiences with video game music covers and percussion ensemble repertoire come together in this original composition. Frequent time signature changes keep the pulse moving with an unexpectedly steady groove. The rhythms in the melody are inspired by the syllables from the titular word as this composition represents a battle against the societal norms that propels the concept of amatonormativity itself.
