This is my percussion ensemble arrangement of Hisstocrat from Super 3D World.

I'm excited to present this cover in its final form! I initially arranged/recorded this back in 2021 on the VibeKAT and my old old marimba (not the Deagan, but the practice marimba I had before that). In 2023 I re-arranged the mallet parts (restructuring voices/adding in extra harmonies) and re-recorded them on the newer glock/xylo/vibes/marimba (Deagan). I also re-recorded the bongos part on congas (since that's what I'd wanted in the first place and I'd finally gotten some). I worked on this before a lot of other remasters because someone specifically requested sheet music for it, but then Nintendo took down all sheet music from my publisher so ultimately that didn't work out :( I was looking forward to the silver lining of at least including this in my remastered compilations last year, but then I was surprised that licensing didn't go through, so this was put back in limbo once again... until now! Thanks to SM3DW getting added to the Nintendo Music app last week, this is finally licensable again! 🎉 I'll probably wait to upload this to streaming services until I finish the other remasters for Vol. 3 (so I don't have to make another album cover tbh), so for now you can enjoy this newest final remaster exclusively here on YouTube!

As tempting as it was to restructure the marimba parts again for the 5 octave, you gotta draw the line somewhere when revisiting older projects and my line for remasters has been re-recording glock/xylo/vibes but not marimba (Deagan) parts, so I resisted... but should I do more big band style arrangements for percussion ensemble that make full use of the 5 octave? 👀 I think Double Cherry Pass or Beep Block Skyway could be fun, but I have a super long list of songs that could be fun at this point, so if that's something you'd wanna see then let me know haha.
Since I recorded audio but didn't record videos for the new mallet parts, I decided to figure something else out for the visual this time. Some of you have been asking for behind the scenes info on how I make my covers, so I decided to show you what the Logic Pro project file with all of the recorded audio looked like! It was honestly a little messy, so I cleaned it up a bit and made it small enough to fit all of the parts on screen in score order. If you noticed that the measure numbers are off by 2 and the time at the top is off from the video's time, then good catch and here's the reason why: I always need extra time for getting in position to play after hitting the record button (I'm especially bad at getting 4 mallet grip ready in time lol), plus I want to leave room for buffering with a tiny amount of silence (well technically room noise if there is any) before the audio at the beginning of the track starts so there's no clipping.
