I recently returned to the 2.1 update, and randomly the other day, I was in the mood to beat a main list demon. I hopped on pointercrate and Amalgam is the one that stood out to me. The gameplay is very unique, being mostly slow speed, but still fast-paced input wise, and very heavy in wave difficulty. My best skillset being slow wave made this a pretty easy task for me. This is by far the quickest I've beaten something this hard, not to mention a top 3 best achievement for me. Whether it is overrated or not (placement-wise) I couldn't tell you. I thought the gameplay might get annoying from zero, but it ended up being very enjoyable, probably partly because I fluked it from 76. I would recommend this as a first main list demon / hardest if your main skillset is wave. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't.

Ryujin suggested this level to me and it ended up being fantastic. Play it if you want an easy extreme to try. It gets super consistent considering I almost fluked from 51.

Promethean was a level that I thought I would absolutely hate. It is very gimmicky and has horrible balancing. But, as I hesitantly started playing, it actually turned out to be a pretty enjoyable experience. Once I learned the click patterns, everything felt pretty natural to play, and it only got a little annoying from zero. The bad thing about this level is that it is extremely back half heavy. The level pretty much starts at 50%, and with the hardest part being the very last ship, it can be frustrating to die earlier in the level and not get there very often. I only died to the end ship 4 times, and I would consider that pretty lucky, so that probably contributed to my enjoyment. Anyways, Promethean wasnt as bad for me as other people say it is, and Id honestly recommend it if you want to improve at ship.

This level had laid untouched for a long time, until I saw that Fenix uploaded a completion of it. I thought that this level was horrible since the day it came out, but looking at it now, it looked pretty skill-based and reasonable. I gave it a play and actually enjoyed it a good amount. It has its share of annoying parts, such as the 47 mini wave and the straight fly transition at 67. This being said, it was a suprisingly good experience from an unexpected level. It was also cool to beat this for historys sake.

Mussum by Nidroo is a fantastic level meant to be a firewall remake. It stays true to hinds style while vastly improving the decoration quality and gameplay from the original firewall. Mussum is a great insane demon and I would recommend it to anyone who loves hinds levels like I do and wants to give it a try.
