Time to get shifty in here!* We have the add unit so now it's time to build the first of the two main secondary units in the ALU, the shift unit.

The circuit uses five 74LS253's to multiplex 4 lots of inputs to the output. Five of the chips gives us 10 lines, that's 8 data lines, carry out and a spare line that I can't find a use for.

The build portion of this video edited down to less than I expected, I guess it was mostly replication which makes for better viewing if I fast forward it.
