A short-ish video on the connection between alternate picking and rhythmic feel, using two of Jerry Garcia's licks in the Grateful Dead song "Scarlet Begonias."
Jerry Garcia played with a light, bouncy feel that is hard to emulate. The key to it is to feel the downstrokes & upstrokes against the beat.
