Mastermind Japan is a high-end Japanese streetwear label founded in 1997 by designer Masaaki Homma. The brand is instantly recognizable for its skull-and-crossbones logo and its signature black-heavy aesthetic. Homma built Mastermind around premium materials, precise construction, and a rebellious, almost militant energy — blending luxury craftsmanship with underground street culture.
During the 2000s, Mastermind became a cult symbol in global streetwear through limited releases and major collaborations with brands like adidas and The North Face. The label originally announced it would close in 2013, increasing its exclusivity, but later returned with two lines: Mastermind Japan (higher-end, made in Japan) and Mastermind World (a more globally distributed line). Today, it remains a status brand known for scarcity, quality, and that unmistakable skull mark.
