[Synopsis]
In this video, I show you my backup power system using the AllPowers R1500 Lite power stations. I made a mistake about the Goldenmate 800 Watt UPS, the battery in it is 230 Watt hour, not 275 Watt hour.
My total backup power capacity in my computer room is about 2,336 Watt Hour, and I have a 80 Watt solar panel. If there was a prolonged blackout I would use the solar panel to charge my power stations. I also have a car charger for the power station which I can change from my car as well.
The companies I worked for in the past had UPS units and backup power generators for the servers. The world is a turbulent these days, so we may see power disruptions due to the outdated power grid, and increasing demand for power from data centers. Over 70% of electrical transmission lines in the US are outdated as of 2026. We will be seeing hotter summers due to climate change, so during the summer time we may see more blackouts and brownouts. Hydroelectric dams across this world including the US is producing less electricity due to droughts. Power capacity will drop, and power demand will rise in the future. It is obvious of what is in store in the future.
Brownouts and blackouts can damage electronics. If you electronics are connected to UPS units, that would mitigate the risk of you damaging expensive computers and electronics. Since we have a lot of tariffs, replacing these things will be more expensive. UPS protects against brownouts, and the power backup units can provide power if you have blackouts that last hours. That is the reason I had been investing in portable power stations. As for the UPS units, I had always used them in the past 26 years. I replaced lead acid UPS units with Lithium Iron Phosphate models.
As for power backups and generators, I will invest in more of it.
