See ya’ later alligator 🐊
We recently tagged several gators to track their movements and nesting patterns. This data helps us manage healthy populations.
Each alligator is briefly caught, tagged, and released in the same area. A temporary blindfold keeps them calm throughout the process.
One of the coolest moments?
An intern captured the same alligator that her dad tagged in 2004.
The team will be tagging gators all summer.
Over the last five years, they've collected data on close to 200 alligators!
