An alligator in the roadway on Florida’s I-95 led to a deadly three-vehicle hit-and-run crash after a driver was ejected and struck by another passing vehicle.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol crash report, a 2010 Mercedes-Benz was traveling south on I-95 about 11:52 p.m. Sunday when its driver saw an alligator in the roadway. The driver was unable to avoid it, and the front left side of the Mercedes-Benz struck the alligator.
A driver in a 2004 Toyota Tacoma then swerved to avoid the Mercedes-Benz, lost control and overturned, ejecting the driver from the pickup truck.
