The untrue stereotypes about the south are wilddddd!
I’ve heard it all! Unintelligent, inbred, hyper religious, unhealthy food.
Saying that most people in the south are racist implies that people in other parts of the US aren’t. Not only that, but what about the rich culture and ethnic diversity of New Orleans or Atlanta or Houston?
We know institutional racism exists in the country (if not the world) as a whole and you contribute to the invisibility of POC communities and racism itself when you scapegoat like 20 states and paint them all with a broad negative brush.
“The south” is a very large place with like 125 million people living in it, and they deserve better than yeehaw-cowboy-pew pew-Jesus-cousin-marriage jokes.
