Dr. Alicia Fernández is the 2024 Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Award winner for Faculty.
As founder of the UCSF Latin Center of Excellence, Dr. Fernández is lauded for her ongoing leadership to improve access to health care and to diversify the medical profession through her focus on training and mentoring Latinx learners. During the pandemic, Dr. Fernández led efforts to provide public education and equitable access to care, including vaccinations.
