In this video we take a look at Alberta's deadliest natural disaster, the massive rock slide that devastated the town of Frank in the Crowsnest Pass.

In the early hours of April 29 of 1903, a massive rockslide broke off of Turtle Mountain and slammed into the mining town of Frank which sat right at the base of the mountain.

Although most of the town survived, the rock slide decimated the eastern portion of the town and an estimated 70-90 people died in the disaster.

This remains both the deadliest natural disaster in Alberta and the deadliest rockslide in North American history.

This is a very interesting spot and it's very accessible to visitors, I'd highly recommend checking it out if you get the chance.
