Albany County DA Lee Kindlon and Chief of Police Brendan Cox spoke to reporters July 10 about the arrest of 44-year-old Vance Mims Jr. in the shooting death of Iris Vazquez. His son, Vance Mims III, who was 17, died last year after a shooting downtown on July 4, 2025.
