It's Deep winter in Alaska, one of the coldest in years. Let's see for ourselves!
Our journey begins with flights from Seattle to Fairbanks where we could watch and photograph aurora from our Alaska Airlines flight.

In Fairbanks we watched as a shield of Aurora formed to our Northeast. Later we travel to Denali and set our sights on wonderful bed and breakfast: The Runway House. booking.com/hotel/us/the-runway-house.html Which happens to be open all winter! It's fantastic place to stay surrounded by Mountains.
Overnight, a top notch display of Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) was visible in Denali's rain shadow (Mt McKinley)
The next day, we find a view of the Denali summit, followed by lots of mountain views worthy of the best Bob Ross paintings.
That evening was snowed in, So we stayed overnight at the Totem Lodge.The next day we pulled an allnighter after another round of mountain vistas, frozen lakes and rivers, and Moose!
A bare-minimum weak aurora display still managed to fill our lenses with greens and reds for an entire evening.
And of course, Northern Lights all the way down to Seattle!
