THE car Alan Kulwicki used to win the 1992 Hooters 500 and capture the title over Bill Elliott (The Underbird) is in the basement of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in sad shape. AK Racing Chassis 008 sat mostly unprotected in the Hooters Las Vegas casino for many years. Layers of dust, dents, and random vandalism have taken its toll on the fateful restoration performed by then Geoff Bodine Racing employees back in 1994. Today we go over the car in detail with Alan's former crew chief Paul Andrews. He shows us the neat construction tips and tricks that made this car so effective for Alan back in 1992 along with untold stories! Shoutout to @S1apShoes for the backstory cameo!
