Time for another review and "How To" guide by http://www.scalewarmachines.com.
This time, we are exploring AK Interactive’s new Real Color Lacquer Paints (and their High Compatibility Thinner).
These are high-quality, accurate paints with fully researched and sampled colour matching as well as “standards” colour compliance.
They are lacquer-based which means they need to be handled differently from standard acrylics - which can be easily diluted with water. Also, these are best applied by airbrush, but as you will see, they work perfectly well for some brush painting tasks. Larger areas might encounter problems with brush marks as the paint layers will attack each other due to chemical reactivation. Our test showed that if you are a brush painter and want to cover larger areas, the paint went on better over primer.
