Join us as Joe Dewhurst and I unpack our experience from Airecon last week, where we brought the world of wargames and historical board games to a wider audience! Alongside our friends, Luke Evison, Pierre Vagneur Jones, Joe Clyne and Peter Evans, we set up a booth dedicated to introducing 'regular' board gamers to the depth and intrigue of our hobby. From the strategic challenges of 'Votes for Women' to the historical intricacies of 'Battle of Versailles,' 'Washington's War,' 'Commands and Colors,' and 'Wir Sind Das Volk,' we explored a broad spectrum of games that blend history with engaging gameplay.
Not only did we share these gems with new audiences, but we also had the incredible opportunity to meet some of the minds behind these creations, including Jo Kelly, who demoed their latest design for Wehrle Gig, 'Molly House.' This video is a debrief of our adventures, the games we showcased, the designers we met, and our reflections on bridging the gap between regular board gaming and our passion for wargames and historical narratives.
