What were the best historical board games of 2024? In this video, we reveal the Top 10 as voted by the Homo Ludens community—players, designers, and history lovers who care about games where history isn't just a backdrop, but the beating heart of the design.

Each community member submitted their three favorite historical games of the year, and after tallying the votes, we’ve built a ranked list that goes beyond traditional wargames to include any game where history is central, not just cosmetic.

At the top of the list, we’ll also award the (modestly coveted) Golden Luddite Award 2024 to the three most celebrated titles.
