Air passenger demand fell 1.7% in June 2026 compared to June 2025, largely reflecting weaker domestic markets in China, the US and Japan, alongside continued challenges in the Middle East.
International demand fell 0.9% year-on-year, while domestic demand declined 3.0%.
Despite these challenges, African airlines recorded the strongest growth in international demand (+6.7%), followed by Latin America (+3.5%) and Europe (+1.5%).
