Take a moment today to experience God from an Eastern perspective with Rev. Christopher Eng and Douglas Tom. Try to follow along with the movements of the 1st Set of the Classical Y’ang Style!
Drawing upon the theme of this year’s ‘Aha Pae‘āina, this devotional highlights the sharing from one generation to another.
Christopher shares:
"The theme 'From Generation to Generation' is fitting because years ago, when Doug started to attend classes in 2018 that I was teaching at Waipahu UCC (he initially was part of the class I taught at Japanese Baptist Church in Seattle, WA from 1978–1981), I decided to mentor him so one day he could teach to others. Having Doug perform the movements instead of me communicates this important fact: that this art is to be passed along to others."

“Teaching Asian Christian Theology through the Chinese Martial Art of T’ai-Chi Ch’uan" by Christopher Eng is available to any church within the Hawai‘i Conference United Church of Christ.

Throughout the week of our 200th ‘Aha Pae‘āina (this Monday through Friday) join us each day for a time of reflection and prayer led by a different chaplain serving in Hawai‘i.
