In a time of crisis as Maui has endured, it is good for us to come together as ‘ohana and join in prayer and shared tears and hope. The Hawai‘i Conference sponsored a Prayer for Maui service online, Sunday, August 20 at 4 p.m. HST (7 p.m. Pacific Time / 8 p.m. Mountain Time / 9 p.m. Central Time / 10 p.m. Eastern Time).
Pastoral leaders on Maui, joined by Karen Georgia Thompson (General Minister and President of the UCC) and Traci Blackmon (Associate General Minister of the UCC), led us in prayer, song, reading of scripture. We marked each life lost (known to date) with the toll of a bell which rang 114 times.
We invite you to share in grief and hope with us through this service.
