This is the first part of this series. It's all an AU, and all of this is fabricated, especially the Alive AU. While William in this AU did prioritize his children over his immortality (or well accepted his mortality for his children), he's still not a good parent.

While he does love them, he believes that love is obedience and or love is him trying to give them the best he can (in a controlling manner). He doesn't necessarily believe the fact that 'he'd be disappointed in them forever," it's more like he believes his 'disappointment' will motivate them to do the best they can.

He made a deal with some business partners so that's why he's doing this. He also genuinely believes this will be beneficial for Elizabeth Afton and CC Afton (but also for himself). He's not actually cold and mechanical, well he is but not in a planning-everything way and 'I gotta do this for the plan.' This behavior is a habit (aka using language that hurts but sounds nice).
