Colombia's president is asking President Trump to suspend the 12.5% tariff on the country as it recovers from the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that hit Monday.
289 people are dead and nearly 4,000 injured. President Abelardo de la Espriella, who was backed by Trump also thanked the U.S. for committing $26.5 million in earthquake aid. Those funds go towards food, shelter and health supplies.
President Trump has paused a new 50% tariff on $20 billion worth of Canadian goods.
That decision comes just hours before the tariffs were set to take effect. President Trump announced a three-day delay on social media, saying the two countries have reached a deal.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney confirmed the pause but said important work still remained. The tariffs would have hit products ranging from hockey sticks to medical supplies.
Both sides have a reason to avoid the fight. Nearly three quarters of Canada's exports come into the United States, and new tariffs could have raised prices for American consumers ahead of November's midterm elections.
The Kennedy Center told a federal court it will not attempt to return President Trump's name to the building until after Labor Day.
The institution says this is because of another legal battle over the venue's future.
Last week the center's board voted for a second time to close the institution for a two-year renovation. It also voted to add an inscription to the Kennedy Center sign saying it was "restored and renovated by President Donald J. Trump."
