Inside a small workshop in Kennesaw, Georgia, craftsman Tom Suddreth is transforming destruction into something meaningful. Using pecan wood salvaged from orchards devastated by Hurricane Helene, Suddreth hand-turns one-of-a-kind bowls that preserve the scars of the storm while honoring the farmers who lost so much.
What began as a search for quality wood quickly became a mission. After witnessing widespread damage across rural communities, Suddreth launched the “Helene Series” — signed and numbered pieces created from storm-damaged trees. Rather than hiding the cracks and rough edges, each bowl tells a story of resilience, recovery, and remembrance.
Motivated to make a difference, Tom and his wife committed to donating a portion of the proceeds to Weathered But Strong, a Georgia Foundation for Agriculture initiative supporting farmers impacted by disaster.
