This After Effects tutorial will create a realistic and detailed Slime effect that can be used on text and is fully procedural, so the text can be changed after the fact. Also, if you put a logo inside the EditText comp, you could have a logo covered in slime. With adjustments, this could also be a great liquid text effect, great for motion design intros or logo animations for your youtube channel.
No plug-ins needed for this effect and while the slime look is stylized, it will rival what you could get in a dedicated 3D app at a fraction of the time to create and render.
This is the most fun After Effects text effect I've created and I would love to see what variations people can come up with. There is a lot packed into this tutorial, so it goes pretty quick. This may not be an ideal After Effects tutorial for beginners, so you likely will want at an AFter Effects intermediate level, or at least solid beginner level.
